As of the latest updates, the majority of the project’s sub-phases have been completed and conveyed to the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department (MD-WASD), with final phases nearing completion 2.

How to Begin Your Water Service Connection

To connect your property to the new city water system, follow these steps:

Establish a Water Account with MD-WASD

Visit one of the MD-WASD offices to open an account and schedule water meter installation. Before the meter is installed, you must determine the optimal location for the meter box—typically near your existing well, though this may vary by property.

Obtain a Plumbing Permit from the Village of Pinecrest

• Submit a plumbing permit application online or in person.
• Hire a licensed plumber to complete the private plumbing work.
• Secure approval from the Florida Department of Health for well abandonment or conversion to irrigation use.
• Provide a site sketch or survey showing the proposed meter location and service line details.

Final Steps After Installation

The Village of Pinecrest will conduct a final inspection. Upon approval, the Village will forward documentation to DERM (Department of Environmental Resources Management) to close your Notice of Required Connection case 1.
